Jewish Future Pledge

At Olami, we are the Jewish future.

As active members of the Olami community, we do so much to impact and strengthen Jewish life and demonstrate that the Jewish future matters.

By taking the Jewish Youth Pledge, we will show our families, friends, and communities that our passion for the Jewish people will carry on throughout our lifetimes. Join us, as we lead by example and ignite a surge of Jewish pride that inspires others to do the same.

What does the Jewish Youth Pledge say?

Together, we have the power to shape the Jewish future. “I hereby pledge to act today and throughout my lifetime to strengthen the Jewish people and Israel. I make this commitment because I have a responsibility to ensure that my generation writes the next chapter of the Jewish story and remains a strong link in the chain of generations.”

How do we keep pledgers on track?

The Jewish Youth Pledge has created a Digital Time Capsule, to seals pledgers’ letters in an electronic vault. The letter is re-shared every 5 years for the next 20 years, keeping pledgers on track.

What are pledgers saying?

Noa Feldman

“I am signing the pledge because the Jewish community has given me so much during my childhood, and I want to ensure that future generations have such a supportive and inspiring community like I did.”

Mark Metzger

“By signing the Jewish Youth Pledge, I’m reminding myself and motivating others to commit ourselves to creating a prosperous and vibrant Jewish community for generations to come.”

Rebecca Blum

“I’m pledging to strengthen the Jewish community throughout my life because it is on younger generations to keep the spirit and legacy of the Jewish people alive.”

Josh Katzen

“The Jewish Youth Pledge gives us the opportunity to have important conversations about the Jewish Community and how we can strengthen it moving forward.”

What is the difference between the Jewish Youth Pledge and the Jewish Future Pledge?

The Jewish Youth Pledge encourages Jewish teens and young adults, ages 13-24, to take active roles in leading and contributing to the Jewish community. The Jewish Youth Pledge also asks pledgers to write a letter to their future selves. This letter is stored in a tailor-made digital Time Capsule that participants will receive at key junctures throughout the next two decades of their life.

The Jewish Future Pledge focuses on Jews older than age 24 and asks them to pledge that half or more of the money they plan to leave to charity in their will goes to supporting the Jewish people and/or the State of Israel. Both Pledges encourage sharing conversations, stories, and values with others about why the Jewish future matters.
